DESCRIPTION:
โ€‹

As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing the security of our Test IO platform, we are introducing a change to how attachments are accessed when shared outside of the platform environment. Starting Monday, August 12th, 2024, any links to attachments that are opened in a new tab or shared externally will expire after 2 hours. This ensures that your data remains secure and confidential.

KEY DETAILS:

  • Within the Platform: No changes. You can continue to access and share attachments directly within the platform as usual.

  • External Access: If you open an attachment in a new tab or share the link outside of the platform, the link will expire after 2 hours. To regain access, simply return to the platform to generate a new link.

  • Exported Data: Links included in CSV, XLSX, and bug tracker exports will function as before. They will redirect to a secure, expiring URL, ensuring that your exported data remains accessible and secure.

  • Sharing Attachments: If you need to share an attachment externally, you can save the file and send it directly as a file, as the link will no longer be valid after 2 hours.

EXAMPLE:

Scenario: You open a video attachment from a bug report in a new tab at 10:00 AM. You leave the tab open but do not return to it until 12:30 PM.

Result: When you try to play the video at 12:30 PM, the link will have expired. To view the video again, you would need to go back to the Test IO platform, find the attachment, and open it in a new tab to generate a new link.

We understand that these changes may require some adjustment. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please reach out to our support team for assistance.
